Recently You Tuber, hazzer123daniels123 asked me about effects in iMovie. I do my level best here to explain them. Hopefully I'll get more articulate as I do more of these tutorial type videos. Edit: Please not this is iMovie 06 which I got with the iLife package. In later versions of iMovie Apple removed most of the effects present in the older versions.. They did this because they are idiots. :)

AppGirl.tv takes you through a step by step tutorial of iMovie for the iPhone 4, including importing and cropping media, adding photos, text, music, themes, transitions, compressing and uploading to YouTube. A great app worth the $4.99. Be aware though that you cannot upload directly in HD from your iPhone 4! Apple has done a great job with HD recording and editing on the iPhone, so it's disappointing that the naive youtube uploader doesn't handle HD (no emailing or MMS of HD either!). To get around this you will need to copy the completed video to your computer and upload it from there. Don't forget to subscribe and rate this video. If there is an app (or whatever) which you would like us...

UPDATE: THE SOUND SETTINGS ARE NOT CORRECT. IF YOU DO WHAT I SAY IN THE VIDEO FOR THE AUDIO, AND YOUR VID IS LONGER THAN A MINUTE AND A HALF, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF HAVING AN AUDIO DELAY. My first tutorial on the settings I use for compressing video in iMovie HD. You may have to change some of the settings depending on the length of your movie.

This week's Macworld Video addresses the new features in Apple's recent iMovie '08 7.1 update. Unlike most iLife updates, which are all about bug fixes, this update adds some nice new functionality to iMovie '08. It's a controversial product, this iMovie '08, largely because it's a brand-new product that is lacking many of the features of its predecessor, iMovie HD. However, leaving aside the controversy over Apple's decision to kill iMovie HD, iMovie '08 is very good at what it was designed to do: let users cut down their videos quickly and then share them with their friends and family. If you're someone with a giant pile of home videos just sitting around unedited, iMovie '08 is meant for...

Missiemuck and Merrin have e-mailed me with some iMovie problems of their own. Hopefully this helps you guys out. Download VisualHub at the link below: www.versiontracker.com For specifically converting MPEG files I now use a program that is totally free and does not limit your encoding to a mere 2min (which is handy for all you cheapskates out there like me :) It's called MPEGstream clip and can be found here: www.apple.com

geeks.pirillo.com - http - I am taking a look at the new iLife '09 for Mac OS X. As of the day I installed this, January 26th, it wasn't available to the public yet. Due to a misprint in a BestBuy ad, Danny was able to purchase his copy early. chris.pirillo.com Distributed by Tubemogul.

Watch in HD! Apple iMovie 2009 demonstration. I created a video to demonstrate all of the cool features in iMovie 2009. I show all of the available titles, transitions, new backgrounds, and maps. Also shown is the cool new picture in picture! It also can do green screen, detaching of sound from one clip overlayed onto another and a couple other nifty features. So far, I've been pretty impressed! It did crash twice on me while putting this video together but when I brought it back up everything was still there & I hadn't lost any of my work (Way to go Apple!)
